Hermitude - HyperParadise (Flume Remix)
Kick of your New Years celebrations with Flume. The Aussie based producer has had a massive year with the release of his self-titled LP, his sound has a mix of electronic/Hip-Hop/ and Dance genres, worth a listen. His remix of 'HyperParadise' is bursting with energy with big bass and uplifting synths, for me my favorite track of his, perfect to get you in the mood for the new year.
Jacques Greene - Another Girl
What makes Jacques Greene's music so gripping is the use of powerful vocal samples. In 'Another Girl' it seems to tell a story, and you can really hear the emotion in the voice 'you gotta me feeling like another girl', accompanied by a deep bass almost like a heartbeat. There are hints of dakness in his tunes, which makes his music so enticing and absorbing, very similar vibes to great 'faded'.

Best of 2012
It's the end of the year, Christmas has come and gone in a flash, but now on the horizon the new year beckons. I don't know if it's just me but time is just flying by, so I thought that we should just stop and reflect on the past year in music.
Pangs of nostalgia hit me as I look back at certain tracks, memories of people, places and events. 2012 has been an incredible year, we have seen the breakthrough of artists like Disclosure, Bondax, Karma Kid, who have hit the mainstream, some of the young prodigies who have done wonders for the genre.
Hundreds of tracks have been shifted though, but the difficult choices have been made and the top 10 tracks of 2012 have been chosen. But let us not forgot other greats such as Village, Bailey, Maths time Joy, Taneli, AZ&TOR, Kaytranada, Luvian, kidnap kid and a personal favorite Boean.
10. Jeremih - Fuck U All the Time (Schlohmo Remix)
This song is pure sex, a stunning production with the trademark style of Schlohmo.
9. Applebottom - I.M.O.G.E.N
One of the young pioneers of the genre, his sound is so effortlessly funky and cool, any one of his tracks deserve a place on the top 10.
8. Disclosure - Boiling
Who can forget disclosure, 'Boiling' really was the confirmation for me that they were going to be big, release of their album in March.
7. Doo Wop (Pedestrian & Maribou State Remix)
'Do wop' just oozes soul with old skool and garage vibes, Maribou state are in a league of their own.
6. Toyboy & Robin - To The Top
The soundtrack to your new year celebrations, this is the track which hooked my addiction to Toyboy and Robin.
5. Karma Kid - LouLou
The 17 year old never fails to disappoint, absolutely killed it this year, supported from the likes of radio 1 and red bull studios. Check out 'lust love' and 'always' which deserve places on the top 10.
4. Justin Martin - 'Baby I got That'
This has to be my favorite Bondax track, it went down an absolute storm picked up by Pete Tong and dropped in Ibiza as one of the summer tunes. Always brings a smile to my face.
3. Polkadot - Wasn't like that
Who hasn't joined the Polkadot hype, big things to come in 2013 from this teenage, watch this space.
2. Say My Name (Cyril Hahn Remix)
Cyril has blended this original into perfection, making the original almost unrecognisable, one of those songs which gives you goosebumps.
1. Aaron Lipsett & Fion. - Cognac
What a year it has been for Lipsett and Fion, Cognac is the jewel in the crown, an utterly stunning production of the Brandy vocals, even playing it now it was if i was playing it for the very first time.
DΔKTYL - No Love Lost
DAKTYL has really experimented with different sounds here, its an exquisite production. I love the drumming beat behind the laid back synths and the lulling repetition of 'now that i need you'. He's labelled this song as 'future whatever', he's right, people are always trying to put labels of music, but sometimes we can't and shouldn't. 'No Love Lost' is one of a kind.

Drake Fireworks (Deadboy slo mo house edit)
This remix has been around for a while now, but I thought I would give it a good dust off and share it with you, and boy is it one gem. Deadboy has blended and smoothed out the Alicia Keys vocals and given it a slow pounding house beat, the endless repetition of 'all I see is fireworks' casts you under a spell. You find yourself sinking into your seat into a dreamlike state, this track is almost like a drug.

SHOLA AMA - IMAGINE [LO REMIX]
Lo has produced one big bass banging tune! The German producer has injected pure energy into Shola Ama's 'Imagine', he builds on the garage foundations by nicely shaping the vocals and ups the tempo with a big house beats. This is defiantly a tune for the new years, so grad it on a free download and put it on your playlist.
Amerie - One Thing (Jetlag Remix)

There is a european house influence to this noticeable through the funky beats and synths. Jetlag are growing in popularity and there tunes are getting better and better. Free download so get on it!
Jonas LR - Oh
I love this song, its just really fun. 'Oh' has been really well put together, it has crazy synths and nicely chopped vocals which creates upbeat warm vibes. There has been a nice development and maturity in the sounds of Jonas from dubstep to garage and house sounds, in 'oh' you can hear hints of dubstep and electronic sounds from which she has been influenced.

Brandy - Baby (WiSkiM RMIX)
I first hear 'baby' remixed by Applebottom in his funky track 'OoOoOoOh Baby', however the belgian producer WiSkiM gives it a different taste. There is a really soft house beat to this and typical to WiSkiM's style there is an ambient atmospheric sound which is really chilled. WiSkiM use varied genres, with drum n' bass, garage and house sounds, I love the fact that they experiment and intergrate different sounds into their music.

Rihanna - You da one [J.u.D. Remix]
I admit i'm not a big fan of the current trap hype.. but wow this is a really stunning track. J.u.D describes his sound as dreamy trap, you find yourself absorbed and hypnotized by his music its a really original and unique sound unlike any trap i've heard before. there are elements of R&B with the beautifully blended Rihanna vocals, her voice and the original is almost unregonisable. Get involved with the J.u.D sound.

Mr.Beeb - Want Her
Inject a bit of beebage into your day, and no I don't mean that cretin Justin Bieber, i'm taking about the talented Mr Beeb. 'Want her' is a laid back tune with old skool vibes, similar to 'what you do' with its silky synths and bass heavy beats. This is what i love about Mr Beeb, his music is effotlessly good, well he did spend a long time producing 'want her'.. well a good few hours at least.

The 1975 - Intro/Set3 (Bear//Face Remix)
We have all seemed to have fallen under the spell of bear//face, the downtempo dazzling beats seem to put you in a dreamlike state. This remix perfectly blends cloudy synths and emotive vocals, the instantly recognizable sound of bear/face. Its a simply stunning track, one for those bleary red-eyed early morning risers who want to catch the sunrise. Every tune he has produced recently has been pure magic, check out 'taste my sad' and 'my love'.
Christina Aguilera - What A Girl Wants (Bailey Remix)
Bailey has been churning out fresh garage and house tunes recently, and his remix of 'what a girl wants' is his best effort yet. The beats are bouncy and just really fun, the changes in tempo inject so much energy and it really makes the tune come alive. What I love the most about this tune is that you don't expect it to drop the way it does, and you're just left with a smile on your face. I can't get enough of Bailey.

Crypt - Obsessed

Kastle - Keep It Real
Christmas has come early, fresh new Kastle tune hot of the press. 'keep it real' is going to be big, I love the infectious house and garage beats its just bursting with energy. Kastle is one of the leaders of the future garage sound, not only through is own productions, but also through his record label 'Symbols' which features exciting new talents Cosmic Revenge, Jason Burns and a favorite of the blog Maribou State. Exciting things to come in 2013 from Kastle with a highly anticipated new album.
Luvian Sound - Romaine
This has been a favorite of mine for a while now and I thought that I would share it with you, Luvian produces delicate and eloquent beats, he has his own style which is very recognizable. 'Romaine' is melodic and is soothing, it feels like you've been transported to another world, for something similar check out his tune 'My Life' . When researching Luvian I was shocked to find that he remains unsigned, he really is one of a kind.
D'Angelo - Left & Right (Moodprint Remix)
Sometimes a song comes which really hits the spot, Moodprint have produced one dazzling remix here which is truely irresistable. Not much is know of the Belgian Duo who go by 'moodprint' they are yet to release a track yet, but this is one hell of a track its so blissfully calming and almost therapeutic. One for those rainy days.

Applebottom - What I Really Need (SomeBody)
Funking Hell this is one good disco tune! Its full of energy and has retro disco vibes with the sample from Robin S 'show me love'. The 17 year old producer has been making music for a few years now, at such a young age his music is very mature and he has mastered his sound. Check out his previously blogged 'I.M.O.G.E.N' and a personal favorite of mine 'let you'.
Stay+ - Boy (bootleg)
After the hugely successful 'Crashed' which featured on Radio 1 Annie Macs Single of the week and a mix on Rob De Bank's show, Stay+ is back bigger and better. 'Boy' is another euphoric tune with dirty synths and raw vocals, but there is a hint of dark melancholy to this tune which makes it so absorbing and engaging, you find yourself lost in their music. Stay+ have a trademark sound and have firmly set themselves onto the future electronic scene.

Craig David - Fill Me In (Ryan Hemsworth Bootleg)
The King of remixes, Ryan Hemsworth has chosen to put his stamp on the Craig David tune 'fill me in'. But the question beckons, what makes a good remix? Well it has to create a new sound, yet keep the soul of the original. Ryan here keeps the Craig David vocals almost untouched, but spices up the instrumental really bringing his voice into 2012. However there is a great sense of nostalgia in this remix, making me want to dust off my of Craig David albums.
Lorine Chia - Purple
Lorine Chia where have you been hiding? I think I've fallen in love with her voice, it's really soulful and pure. You can really connect with her music with captivating and deep lyrics such as 'can my soul connect with yours'. So grab a bottle or 2 and stick on her soundcloud, I promise it will sooth those monday blues.
DrDr - No Compromise
Move aside AlunaGeorge there are some new kids on the block! and wow does their new EP 'no compromise' sound good, going through the tracks on their preview I can't hear a bad tune. In the particular 'no compromise' just builds up and then bursts with a garage drop, I can see it being a real floorfiller. When this EP is released I can imagine them exploding onto the future garage scene. Exciting things to come, keep an eye on their soundcloud for a release date.

The Golden Boy - That Thing
Lauryn Hill's 'doo wop' has been a popular choice for samples recently, maribou state have done a class remix of it, however the Golden Boy puts his own stamp and style of the sample. Its a very upbeat bouncy garage remix which is full of energy, and you can tell he had a lot of fun making this and it shows in the track. Air Zaire is a very talented producer, he doesn't over complicate his sound its just smoothing and very calming. Check out his soundcloud for more of his stuff
Boean - Babe, You Do
Boean is becoming one of my favorite future garage producers, 'babe you do' is a follow up from the previously blogged 'no love dear'. Boean has a talent of choosing the best samples and has a style of not over-complicating the sound, just a fresh bouncy garage beat and a well mixed sample from destiny's child 'independent woman'. Its a real head nodder, imagine 'babe you do' dropped in a club it would explode. Boean dedicated this to his late friend who passed away, depicted in the picture below.

Nu:Tone - System (Salute Remix)
This really brings a smile to my face, when i was 16 I loved drum n' bass and system by nu:tone was one of my favorite tunes. Salute has stripped back the original, he's ripped out those silky vocals and given it a downbeat tempo. That slowdown of the track has brought out the soul in the female vocals and given it sexy vibes. Pure Magic.

TJPN - Talktome
Along comes another teenage wonder-kid by the name of TJPN, adding to the young club of future garage producers like Polkadot, Karma Kid, Disclosure and Bondax. This new breed of music is becoming revolutionary and very exciting, talktome is an essential for your music library.

Andrea - More To Me
The Frenchman has done it again, the piano loops and vocal samples are blended together into something really beautiful. Well he did say he was bored, so he decided to produce this today, this just shows what a talented producer he is and it would be a good thing if he got bored more often. From his song titles such as 'want you back', 'all yours' and 'never let you go' its like Andrea is making music about how he feels, or maybe about a woman in his life...
FKJ - Lying Together
Put a bit of funk into your day, French Kiwi Juice have produced one damn cool track with 'lying together'. It oozes romance with its funky beat and sexy flirtatious vibes, you can tell its a French production, as us Brits have yet to discover romance. Andrea - Another
Is there something in the water? Because this is the second tune today which just screams sexy. The sweetly blended vocals and skipping beat just make this so infectious.
