DETEKT - Trust In Me

DETEKT.’s avatar

There is no better feeling than discovering some unknown diamond, and 'trust in me' is one dazzling beauty. I can't tell you much about Detekt, he's a 17 year old from Wales, I'm not surprised anymore by the age of these guys, with the likes of Polkadot, Bondax and Karma Kid they're leading the future electronic movement. I found something instantly likable about Detekt's sound, there are some catchy innovative beats and a well put together soft vocal sample. how has this got only 32 views?

# Unknown - New #58

I don't know whether to love or hate # Unknown; on one hand he releases such a variety of house music which is of the best quality, however it torments me not knowing the artist or track name. Well number 58 is a pumping house tune, the Stevie wonder vocal sample is delicious, if you haven't already, turn up the volume.

Panda - All I Can Give

Its Panda’s avatar

I don't know about you but I still have Panda's track 'love shy' still ringing in my ears, it has to be one of the tracks of the month, but he's back with this preview ripped from radio 1. As always with Panda it's upbeat feel good house and garage vibes, I can't help myself head bobbin and bouncing along to this. Can we have some more please?

Cassidy featuring R. Kelly - Hotel (Beluga 6am Bootleg)

BΞLUGA’s avatar

If you don't instantly recognize the name Beluga, you will know him by another name, Eton Messy. We all know him though his youtube channel and Messy Mixes, he has the ability to find and mix some of the best tracks and artists on the scene at the moment, I would give my left nut for his itunes collection. Here he proves his production skills with this moody R&B bootleg, combing the vocal cuttings from the original with light refreshing synths and a sexy beat. Check out 'I need u' or Blonde's 'talk to you', Eton is one talented guy. .

Crown Duels & Erotic City - 7 Days

Crown Duels’s avatar

One of the first albums I ever bought was Craig David's 'born to do it', I've always had a love for his music, '7 days' is pure nostalgia. This remix shapes and cuts the vocals beautifully, and giving it an uplifting future garage beat. Crown duels always choose the best samples and bring them into 2013, but they always keep that nostalgic feel of the original. Grab it on a free download.

TÂCHES - St. Moritz

TÂCHES’s avatar

I always find myself drifting away in TACHES' tracks, they're utterly spellbinding. The beautiful  cut vocals go perfectly hand in hand with the dreamy hypnotic bassline. When those 2 minutes 37 seconds are over I find myself suddenly brought back to reality, then I find myself constantly clicking repeat. As with all of his tracks, grab it on a free download.

Tristan Prettyman - My Oh My (PALMFooD & Stamusic. Remix)

Well stumbling across this beauty from Stamusic and PALMfood has certainly made my day! It is still fair to say these guys are still pretty underground, but this is hard to believe when listening 'my oh my'. It's a very established sound, a sexy chord progression with a well tuned vocal sample, a track which could be mass marketed, although I hate to say it very like Disclosure. Diamond of a track.

Polkadot - Crystals

Finq music have been spoiling us recently, we've had the past week with free downloads from greats such as Fion, Crown Duels and Salute, not to mention other uploads from Armeria and Taches. This Polkadot release is the Jewel is the crown, if you haven't heard about Polkadot by now, I don't know what planet you've been on, this teenage talent from Wolverhampton has been killing it ever since the iconic 'wasn't like that'. Just like the Finq music facebook page to grab 'crystals' and a whole lot more on a free download.

TJPN - Your Games

17 year old producer TJPN adding another beauty to his array of jems, this teenager is one of the most consistent producers on the scene at the moment. He has his own signature style of floaty house vibes with flavours of R&B, there is something about his sound which is inherently likable and addictive. Grab it on a free download.

Jean Jacques Smoothie - 2 People (Louis La Roche Remix)

Last night I went to see Bodhi, Karma Kid, Disclosure and Redlight in Cardiff, as you would expect it was mental. I could be here all day going through the music played, but one track played that was very nostalgic for me, 'two people' is one of the tracks that sparked my love for house music. This blog shares the best new music, but rules are there to be broken, and sometimes it is nice to look back once in a while.

αtμ - Still Here

I have got to the point now where I can't define certain tracks and put them under one single genre of music, take this latest αtμ track, there are hints of future garage, trap and electronic vibes. The Intro builds up with gentle soothing vibes, it almost sounds like waves breaking, then it moves into the warm blended vocals that are accompanied by a deep skipping base. The only disappointing fact is that this is only 2.23m long.

Real Connoisseur - Down With Me

Oxford based producer Real Connoisseur is back with a head noddin deep house track. If you haven't heard much of his stuff before check out 'Faux De Baux' and 'make ya mind up' which had support from radio 1. No release date for this yet unfortunately.

Lana Del Ray - Summertime Sadness (Toyboy & Robin Remix)

Toyboy and Robin continue their superb form, putting their own stamp on the Lana Del Ray classic. Close your eyes and press play, you will instantly recognize the Toyboy and Robin sound, the bouncy feel good house and garage infused vibes. You may also remember the recently posted Example remix preview, Toyboy and Robin seem to have a few tracks hidden up their sleeve, exciting things to come. Grab 'Summertime Sadness' on a free download

Drake - Doing it Wrong (Figgy Remix)

It was a bold move for Figgy to take on 'doing it wrong' by Drake, however he doesn't fail to disappoint. Don't get me wrong the original is a beauty but a tad bland for our taste, what makes this Figgy's so good is that he adds so much more flavour. He creates a warm beat and cuts and shapes the vocals beautifully, it almost sounds like its a woman singing. He manages to create something new with a different feel, but we still feel the nostalgia in beauty of the original. Figgy just adds a bit of va va voom.

Jam & Keys - Only One (iO Sounds & Lakosa Remix)

I don't know about you guys, but I can't get enough of iO at the moment. this time teaming up with the great Lakosa. We have seen the two collaborate before with 'home early' and 'live wire' which you may recognize from the Disclosure Boiler room set. This latest track is so groovy and deep, can't get this one off repeat.

Pledge - Waiting (Pikcha Remix)

Nottingham based producer Pikcha has done something special here, he's completly re-invented Pledge's 'waiting'. The original is a beautifully composed future garage tune, but Pikcha creates a deep house base with punchy synths and enhancing that smooth vocal sample. I can't get enough of those dreamy vibes.

TJPN - The Feeling

TJPN is one of the most exciting new talents at the moment in future garage, and guess what, he's 17, adding to the wave of teenage talent. As he describes it, his sound is "floaty house", it's music that puts you in a good mood with light and refreshing vibes. This guy doesn't make a bad tune.

Maribou State & Pedestrian - Mask

The dream team of Maribou State and Pedestrian have joint forces once again, we saw them last year produce jems such as 'rush don't run' and the iconic 'doo wop'. I find myself caught in the beautifully spun web of deep rythems and touching vocals. Oh Maribou State and Pedestrian how I love you.

Disclosure - White Noise ft. AlunaGeorge

It was only a matter of time until Disclosure and AlunaGeorge teamed up, two of the leaders of the future dance movement. Even before hitting play I knew this was going to be good, and they didn't disappoint. You'll be hearing this on your radio in no time.

J.u.D. - Roses

As you may know by now I'm not a fan of Trap, however this is J.u.D. we are talking about here. The French producer has his own brand and style of trap, as he calls it 'dreamy trap', music that takes you to another world. The Bon Iver sample is unique and innovative, J.u.D is unlike anyone else out there at the moment.

Atlas - Don't Explain

Atlas;’s avatar

Atlas are quartet from the north of England, signed to symbols record label which is led by giants such as Kastle and Maribou State. There is a futuristic electronic feel to their music, the blended and echoing vocal samples are beautifully produced. Check out their take on Frank Ocean's 'thinking about you' which is something special.

Ifan Dafydd - Celwydd

This may be a difficult one to understand, unless you can speak Welsh. The word 'Celwydd' is translated as 'Lie', its a deep mellow future garage track, something about the foreign tongue is so enchanting and beautiful. Utterly spellbinding.

Crown Duels - So Bad (Original / Ore's Remix)

Crown Duels’s avatar

Fresh new release today of Crown Duels 'so bad', I don't know about you but I'm still in love with their track 'its not right'. I never know what next to expect from Crown Duels, there is so much variation in their music, playing with deep house, garage and old skool vibes. This their latest release has sweet percussion and deep base, got this on repeat.

Citizen - So Submissive

Citizen is one of the most underrated producers at the moment, with 'members only' and ' you give me that something'. This his latest track, has so much groove and laid back vibes. Citizen is one to watch in 2013.

Applebottom - Visions

We really have been spoilt, two Applebottom tracks in the space of 10 days! Again its an upbeat house track with old skool vibes, a big soulful vocal sample and infectious synths. No wonder the teenager is one of the hottest producers on the scene at the moment. Applebottom is on fire.

iO Sounds - Tough Luck

Before you press play make sure you turn up the volume! Now you really can appreciate the hypnotic drumming base and the infectious pinpoint synths which really catch your attention. This track turns and changes direction so many times which gives it a trippy effect, iO showing off his talents in production, it really is something special. If you haven't already give iO's collaboration with Kastle 'only you' a listen.

Ta-ku X JMSN - Make It Last (Milo Mills Remix)

There is something about the Milo Mills sound which is so inherently likable, I find myself enjoying every one of his tunes. Here he takes the original and strips it down to its bear bones, taking away the over complex glitchy beats and layering his own solid beats, sexy synths and smooth R&B vocals. Thats were the beauty of his music lies, warm laid back house vibes that aren't too complicated.

The Aussie has recently made his own interpretation of Swedish House Mafia's legendary 'leave the world behind' which was a bold move, but it is fair to say he makes it his own, check it out for yourself. To feed your Milo Mills addiction check out his soundcloud page.

Armeria- What You Need

JuiceBox Mix [TRACK LIST AND D/L LINK IN DESCRIPTION]

One of the best producers out there at the moment, Armeria has that ability to blend dreamy R&B with bouncy garage beats, effortlessly beautiful. This slow jam is just oozing with warmth, as with all of Armeria's tracks, its just feel good music.

Cravero - Keep us alive (unmastered version)

CRAVERO’s avatar

If you're in the mood for some deep house today is your lucky day! French producer Cravero has created some stunning deep house beats, those haunting vocals of ' I feel like taking my life' are beautifully enchanting. After listening to 'keep us alive' I found it hard to believe that this is the unmastered version, it's already damn near perfect. A perfect remedy for my hangover.

Jamie Grind - Whenever We Say Goodbye

I first discovered Jamie Grind with his remix of a Misha B track, he managed to make an X-factor contestant sound good with garage and house vibes, quite remarkable. But hands down 'whenever we say goodbye' is one of his best, with a skipping beat and  magical chords he creates a laid back atmosphere with some jazzy vibes. Check out his soundcloud for more of his recent tunes.

Asa - Glow (ViLLΛGE Remix)

I have never been a follower of the current Trap hype, but then Village comes along with his interpretation. Right from the start you find yourself spellbound by that vocal sample, this song hits you right in the chest with that release of energy at the drop, so delicate yet powerful. For a similar sound check out the J.u.d.'s 'you da one' remix.

Mario - Let Me Love You (Drop Lamond Remix)

DropLamond’s avatar

Back when I was entering my teens Mario's 'let me love you' was a real guilty pleasure of mine, even now time to time we all like a cheeky listen, go on admit it. Drop Lamond has put his own twist on the original, blending and slowing that vocal sample with a warm instrumental. The extraordinary thing is that he's given it summer vibes, something i've never associated or felt with the original. This is something special.

Fion - More Than Ever

The Irish producer is back! As you may have noticed by now he has been a firm favorite of the blog, earning the top spot in our best of 2012 feature with Aaron Lipsett in the iconic 'Cognac' , but also individually with the likes of 'kinda slow' and 'this way'. What makes his sound so special is the '90s house inspired melodies, bouncing basslines and warm vocal samples. Just feel good music.

Bodhi - Good Vibrations

Bringing house back to its roots, Bodhi have created one feel good old skool tune. This track is all about those summer vibes, there is so much suspense in the build up but then the drop is pure heaven. Bodhi have hit the floor running in 2013, I can't wait to hear more.

TÂCHES - Vegas

TÂCHES’s avatar

Waking up this morning to 'Vegas' was the best way to start my day. Taches a Senegalise British based producer has used the R&B sample of Avant's 'seperated', he's blended and cut the vocals giving it that future bass sound. This song just oozes soul and sexy vibes. Get it on a free download.

Joe Tong - Badu

Joe Tong’s avatar

For a moment I thought I had come across a new Bondax track, however as the label Finq say 'Joe Tong has influences from Bodax, but stands on his own two feet'. Those minimal downtempo vibes and flutters of R&B are delicious, a really catchy tune.  Keep an eye on Joe Tong, something special about this guy.

Bodhi - Deliquesce

Cardiff boys Bodhi have treated us to their second track from forthcoming release ‘Culture/Deliquesce’. It gradually builds up with some smooth groovy beats, with a combination of echoing vocals and bouncy synths, this is one hot dance tune. Bodhi have started 2013 in style.

Chris Malinchak - Get Back

One of my favorite producers at the moment, without a shadow of doubt is Chris Malinchak. He's already produced some timeless classics 'if you got it' and 'so good to me', he reminds of that summer is only round the corner. I'm feeling hip-hop jammin vibes off 'get back', this is showcasing Malinchak's diversity and different influences in his productions.

Applebottom - SEX.DRUGS.CA$H.

17 year old Bristol boy Applebottom is back with a groovy house banger. That it one dirty bassline and you cant help yourself moving, a real stomping, head nodding tune. A part of me is saying no I shouldn't like this, but then the song really kicks in with the Lil' Kim sample vocals 'i put the range in the rover' and you just find yourself smiling. Applebottom never fails to dissapoint. .

Johnbear - For Real

I find myself sinking deep into my chair, those deep beats and blended cut vocals are blissfully smooth, just what we need on a sunday evening. Johnbear is soon to have this released on Finq Music label, so keep your eyes out for the full release download.

TLC - Creep (Kaytranada's Creepier Edition)

It's finally here, the long awaited finished second attempt at the remix of 'Creep', that extra time put in and TLC (no pun intended) has resulted in one hot tune. Kaytranada is at his best when he samples the likes of Janet Jackson and Missy Elliot, bringing out the soul and hip-hop vibes with some big beats. He revamps the 20 year old original with a great instramental, really crisp and fresh sounds, you cant help yourself moving or singing along to this. He claims his version is even creepier, do you agree?

Golden Boy - Oh My Gosh

TheGoldenBoy1’s avatar

He's called Golden Boy for a reason, everything his touches turns to gold. I don't know about you, but I'm still playing 'that thing' which never seems to get old. In this his latest track he samples the iconic basement jazz, which really compliments his fun bouncy house/garage style. Now all we have to do is wait for that full length version.

Panda - Love Shy (Panda "Under The Influence" Mix)

Well this is a blast from the past! Panda have sampled the '2000 classic 'love shy' by Kristine Blonde, really feeling the tasty house and garage vibes. Panda's remix of 'love shy' is just first of a series of an 'under the influence' remixes, exciting things to come,

Notize - Blizzard

Notize’s avatar

It's become almost a reflex now, If I come across an artist I like is to check their age, we've seen the past year dominated by the teenage revolution of xxyyxx, Wih'lo, bondax and the like. Notize, a 17 year old danish producer who joins this elite club, his  music way beyond his years. 'Blizzard' literally blew me away with those soft deep house beats and those raw vocals of 'reach out and touch..' are stunning . Check out his remix of Marvin Gaye's 'sunny'.

VVV - That Feeling

Really feeling deep garage vibes on this latest release by VVV, seems to be very Burial influenced. The Pounding bass and the chopped up haunting vocals create a very dark but absorbing atmosphere, the signature sound of VVV. Can't get this one off repeat.

Example - Perfect Replacement (Toyboy & Robin's 1999 Remix)

There is something about the Toyboy and Robin sound that is so inherently enjoyable and addictive. Last year we saw some amazing tunes like 'In need', 'no more sunshine' and 'to the top', their latest remix seems like only a taster of things to come.

They rip the original example track to pieces, taring away at the dubstep base, in place they piece together garage and house beats. Its an incredible transformation, the cutting of the example vocal sample is perfect, they really make it their own. This could well have been made in 1999, it's pure garage gold.

Wednesday, 9 January 2013

KwikFiks & Bongiovanni - Lifted

I don't know about you, but I've been taken back in time. The sample is from the Baby Bash 2003 track 'suga suga', really gave me that sense of nostalgia, it took me ages to put my finger on the sample. KwikFiks & Bongiovanni have brought it into 2013, they've injected some soulful house vibes making it a very deep and sexy track.

Tuesday, 8 January 2013

Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me (Louis La Roche Remix)

When I first heard this song it was in a Louis La Roche's Social Club mix, I had no idea it was Justin Bieber who samples on this track. If you close your eyes and listen, you can't really tell. Who cares anyway, Louis La Roche has waved his magic wand, the Bieber vocal sample has been re-shaped and those future house beats are really fresh. Grab it on a free download

Shlohmo - Wen Uuu

What makes Shlomo stand out from the crowd is his experimentation, the clipped vocal samples and the ingenuity in the sounds he creates, which can almost be obscure at times but beautiful. I found an interview of Schlohmo where he mentioned how he has a regular occurance of 'crazy intense dreams', it explains the low-tempo atmospheric beats, sounds that when put together souldn't really work.. but they do. Those dark late night vibes are irresistable.

MØ - Pilgrim

I was instantly attracted to this song, it was love at first sight. That voice is enchanting and haunting, gives me goosebumps, some of the beats are really unique and different giving this song a real indie edge. Something a bit different than usually blogged, but it's something special.
