Duke Dumont - Need U (100%) feat. A*M*E. SKREAMIX

It's the track that DJs have just been going crazy for, radio 1 have had there hands all over it with Annie Mac and Grimmy hitting play after play. Who can blame them, 'Need You'  is bursting with old school and disco-house vibes, a track which is a sure floor filler, need I say anymore.

Applebottom - Let You (Warren Xclnce Re-Edit)

W∆RREN XCLNCE’s avatar

Initially when I saw a remix of 'Let you' I was slightly sceptical, it was Applebottom's debut track which launched his online career, it's an iconic tune. However Warren Xcince reshapes the orginal beautifully, he creates a shuffling beat that flows along smoothly with some deep creative sounds. Xince has made something new whilst still keeping the soul of the original, it gives me that nostalgic feel, taking me back to when I first fell in love with 'let you'

Fenech Soler - Maiyu

Fenech Soler are a British Electro-Pop band who are always experimenting with different genres and sounds, they're in a league of their own. 'Maiyu' has an infectious glitzy electro feel, there is a deep underlying bubbling bass line, old school feel synths and the icing on the cake are those dazelling vocals. Fenech Soler never dissapoint.

TJPN & LO - Nothing (LO EDIT)

Well I did not see this collaboration coming, but boy have this duo created something special. Individually they both have been killing it recently, but this collective effort has been their best work yet. Right from the start I find myself sucked in by those rising synths and emotive vocals, this is something special.

Anna Lunoe & Touch Sensitive - Real Talk

Anna Lunoe’s avatar

Waking up with a hangover seems to be the daily routine at the moment for me, but instead of a strong black coffee all I need is a dose of Anna Lunoe and Touch Sensitive. Although this has been out for a few months now it still remains an absolute classic, It glides along with a 90s feel, a sweet recipe of pumping beats, warm vocals and delicious paino chords. Suddenly that Hangover seems to fade away.

Dutch producer Boodha has served a straight up future garage track. Since listening to it for the first time today I can't get those haunting vocal chops out of my head, 'but i only live, when i can see your', accompanied by those flickering synths it makes the track so endearing and enchanting. It's quite simply beautiful, I can't get this off repeat.

Hands up if you want some old school hip-hop! Mad Tech records are churning them out at the moment, this their latest release with the ever reliable Irishman Aaron Lipsett. Henry Krinkle - Stay

Today I have been feeling rather nostalgic, I've scrolled back in time in my music collection and I came across 'stay', I had forgotten it's timeless beauty. He creates a new space with this track, that deep heartbeat  base and mesmerizing vocals lulls us into a dreamlike state. This never gets old.

Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now (Coyu Radio Edit)

Fatboy Slim is up there with one of the best DJ's of the past decade, to take on one of his best hits is quiet controversial. However Coyu takes on the challenge and smashes all presumptions, it's all most as if 'right here right now' was made for tech house, all we need for this remix is a summer festival.

Mya - Love Is Like (Jaw Jam Bootleg)

I'm growing to love Valentines day, all these free track downloads! The latest comes from Jaw Jam on Symbols Recordings. He's crafted and shaped the Mya vocal sample beautifully, cutting and warping the vocals makes the original seem almost unrecognisable, a well very well tuned polished remix putting his name all over this.

Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie (Julio Bashmore Remix)

The long awaited return of Justin Timberlake has finally come upon us. 'Suit and Tie' has a classic feel to it, it has made us realize that Justin has grown up and matured, music has changed in the past 10 years and we weren't going to get another 'like I love you'. Julio has reworked 'Suit and Tie' with some deep house beats and sexy synths, a top remix proving why he's one of the best in the business at the moment. You can breathe a sigh of relief now, Valentines day is over and celebrate with this free download.

Thieves - We Used To

Bristol born boys Thieves have put their own garage stamp on Usher's 'climax'. They add some flavor to the Usher's bland original, those bouncing garage beats are damn tasty, Thieves really are masters of the garage sound. As it's valentines day and there are a loads of depressed singletons out there tonight they have very kindly released 'we use to' on a free download.

AMTRAC - All Night

Waking up this morning with a stomach turning hangover, clothes sprawled all over my room, not to mention rolling over only to be accompanied by last nights takeaway is not the best way to start valentines day. If like me this morning you need a little 'pick me up' look no further, the great AMTRAC is here to remedy all our troubles. I'm currently on repeat number 4 of 'all night'. Suddenly you start feeling that little rise of energy, and you notice that little bit of sunshine creep through you bedroom blinds.

DJ #Unknown - NEW #59

Normally with #unkown it frustrates and torments me not knowing the track, especially if I recognise it but yet cannot put my finger on who it is. However this time I was able to put a name to the track, a few weeks ago I was listening to Annie Mac's show when 'listen to the badman' by DEvolution came on, which I instantly loved, so it was no surprise when I hit play on #59. If you haven't already check out the incredible 'My Friends'

Applebottom - Cold-Hearted

Applebottom has been a busy boy recently, he's managed to do a fair bit of touring whilst still releasing top-notch tracks. Some of his recent tracks such as 'sex, drugs, cash' and 'what I really need' have a old skool feel to it and incorporate a futuristic house style. 'cold hearted' is a prime example of why Applebottom is one of the best in the business at the moment.

Blonde - I loved you

Blondesound’s avatar

Eton Messy has been rather busy of late, this time teaming up with one half of Thieves in their collaboration Blondesound. We fell in love with their debut track 'talk to you', although I do hate the fact that they made us actually enjoy a Justin Bieber sample, I get that guilty pleasure feeling as I blare it from my car speakers . Hot off soundcloud today is their latest release 'I loved you' which is a guaranteed floor filler, with a delicious chord progression and upbeat vocal sample, this is one feel-good track.

Maribou State - Got Me Down (Bondax Remix)

I feel like a 5 year old on Christmas eve, the names Maribou State and and Bondax in the same sentence gives me that rush of excitement. You can hear the underlying sounds of Maribou State, but Bondax add their own flavors with their instantly recognizable minimalist bouncy beats. What a delicious combination.

TCTS - 1997

'1997' is the latest release on Bondax's flourishing label Justus Records, alonside TCTS the amazing Karma Kid is also signed. Before pressing play I was slightly cautious, I had high expectations as 2012 saw some groundbreaking tracks such as 'like this' and 'feels so good'. However TCTS did not dissapoint, the song explodes right from the start and just oozes summer vibes. what makes '1997' so special is that for 3.31 minutes it tricks us into thinking that it's actually summer.

Johnbear & Bria - Call Me Your Lover

I hope I'm not alone in saying that I have a guilty love for Janet Jackson, but if you don't after listening to 'call me your lover' you may change your mind. Johnbear and Bria manage to keep that 90s nostalgic feel whilst still creating something new and bring it into 2013. I find myself bobbing along to those soft synths and bouncing beats, play after play this tune doesn't seem to get old. Johnbear is quickly proving to be one of the best rising talents in 2013.

James IV Stewart - Midnight Express

James IV Stewart’s avatar

Allow me to introduce to you James IV Stewart, an underground Sydney based producer, and that's about as much as I can tell you about him. There is something about his music which is so endearing, 'midnight express' has a dreamy future electronic feel to it and I feel mesmerized by those catchy synths and echoing vocals. Grab it on a free download.

Tourist - I Have No Fear

Tourist.’s avatar

If you own a decent pair of headphones strap yourself in, you're about to be taken to another world. It takes off with a few synocapted handclaps, creating a pulsating heartbeat effect, which gradually builds up in a complex nature, I can't help but feel a heightened sense of anxiety. This is portrayed the vocals 'I have no fear', you can hear the adrenaline pumping and it is almost as if he is confronting that fear. After those 5.54 minutes you find yourself back to reality.

BAILEY - Home

BAILEY.’s avatar

Brighton boy Bailey returns with his latest track 'home' which is available on a free download. Track by Track he is getting better and better, perfecting his sound, those bouncing basslines go beautifully hand in hand with a tightly cut vocal sample. It's fair to say that 'Home' is his best work so far, I can't get this one off repeat.

Kidnap Kid - So Close

The wait is over, Kidnap Kid is back! last night on Annie Mac there was the the first preview of his track 'so close' which is part of a new EP. Last year was unforgettable with the likes of 'vehl', 'no one else' and the iconic remix of 'skirts'. His music is so easy on the ear, the vocal sample and instramentul sequences in 'so close' have a organic feel to them, this is eloquently beautiful.

The Streets - Puzzled by People (King Krule Remix)

I'm putting it out there, this is one of the best tracks I've heard in a long time. The London boy started at the tender age of 14 as Zoo Kid back in 2008 as a singer songwriter, but later adopted the name of King Krule where he proved his talents as a producer. Every word Mike Skinner utters is so crisp and clear, you can't fail to miss a word, the underlying dreamy garage beat beautifully enhances Skinner's voice. This track really makes you stop and think.

Crown Duels - Throw Your Head Back

I find myself continually surprised by Crown Duels, they always seem to mix things up and create something new. Just after 30 seconds when this drops there are some unorthodox electronic house vibes, they can almost be seen as ugly, but you can't deny they're unique and sure enough you do find your head nodding. The more I listen to 'throw your head back', the more I like it.

Johnbear - Let Me

Johnbear is someone to get excited about, the young producer has had a great start with the memorable 'for real' and 'baby plz'. His music is the perfect soundtrack to your sunday afternoon, the laidback, downtempo beats can't help but put you in a dream like trance. Gotta lot of love for this.

Best of January

I read the other day that January the 21st is the most depressing day of the year, the papers love to hype how January is full of doom and gloom. Constant negative stories of how energy prices are rising, bad weather reports, and everyone being a bit skint, don't even start on the start on the state of the economy..

It's safe to say we're all a little bored now of negative press, January is about new beginnings and most importantly new music!

January has exceeded all expectations, a high benchmark has been set for the rest of the year. There have been teasing tasters of new E.Ps, whispering rumors and highly anticipated release dates, not to mention summer festival lineups. I can't help but get that rush of excitement and the fluttering of butterflies in my stomach. January is one of the best times of the year, here are the top 10 tracks of the past month.

10. Oppaa - N'questia

I Instantly fell in love with 'N'questia', I find myself hypnotized by that enchanting Adele sample and gentle skipping beat, it really is a beautiful track. Will we get any more from Oppaa? your guess is as good as mine.

9. Utrecht - Like I Love You

We're all suckers for a bit of Justin Timberlake, this remix is irresistable with fun playful house vibes and that beautifully cut and shaped JT vocal sample.

8. Tristin Prettyman - My Oh My ( (PALMFooD & Stamusic. Remix)

Featuring as the current Beat of the Week this underground gem has been stuck on repeat, I think we would all love to hear some more like this from the dutch duo.

7. Lana Del Ray - Summertime Sadness (Toyboy and Robin Remix)

Toyboy & Robin are destined for big things in 2013, they have a innovative signature style and have a talent of re-inventing tracks, look out for their Example remix which hopefully be released soon.

6. Armeria - What You Need

In my opinion one of the most underrated producers of 2012, 'lets go somewhere' was one of my favorite tracks last year, I can't get enough of those warm feel good house vibes; hopefully in 2013 He will get the credit and publicity he deserves.

5. Cassidy ft R.Kelly - Hotel (Beluga 6am Bootleg)

Beluga one of the project names of the famous Eton Messy, this guy doesn't have an end to his talents, as well as being one of the best up and coming DJs and having a top youtube channel, he also proves to be a talented producer. 'Hotel' is pure nostalgic beauty.

4. Disclosure - White Noise ft. AlunaGeorge

Choo Choo! All aboard the Disclosure train. These guys are spiraling up and up in their popularity, this dream team partnership with AlunaGeorge has created another iconic Disclosure track.

3. Applebottom - SEX, DRUGS, CASH

The Bristol based teenager has been busy of late, any one of his recent tracks could make the top ten, 'visions' and 'all nite' were both released this January. But this tracks is unique, with old school and hip hop vibes, Applebottom put's his signature house stamp the original.

2. Maribou State & Pedestrian - Mask

Right from the start I find myself spellbound, those deep house beats and enchanting sounds and are pure magic.

1. Bodhi - Good Vibrations

A few weeks back I heard Bodhi drop this on a night in Cardiff, the place just exploded when this came on, I've never seen anything like it. Pure house heaven!

AMTRAC - Preacher

AMTRAC’s avatar

Your weekend anthem is here! I feel myself giving in, my arm is being twisted, after listening to this new AMTRAC track I can't help myself but want to go out. Those head bobbin pumping house beats just fill me with energy, this explosive track needs to be played at full volume.

Submotion Orchestra "Thinking (Maths Time Joy Remix)"

For those of us who are stuck at home tonight, kick back and relax to this new Maths Time Joy track. It is fair to say that his EP 'Hideaway' was one of the best of 2012, I couldn't get the likes of 'always' off repeat. In my opinion the secret to his success is a recipe warm catchy house beats with crisp beautiful vocal samples; it's just feel good music.

Full Crate x Mar "Nobody Else (Club Edit)"

Amsterdam duo Full Crate and Mar have dropped this new soulful deep house track on label XLR8R. There is a delicious combination of a deep bouncy house base with a soulful catchy vocal sample. What annoys me about some of the reviews of this track is the endless comparison to disclosure, Full Crate and Mar have their own style of deep house which is unique. 'nobody else' is a guaranteed floor filler!

AZ&TOR - Resend

Bristol duo AZ&TOR had their new track 'resend' dropped by Toddla T on his radio 1 show last night. They have an instantly recognizable sound with stabby synths, deep house rhythms and smooth vocal samples. Yet again AZ&TOR don't fail to disappoint with this slice of pure deep house magic. Try Applebottoms remix of AZ&TOR's 'save our souls' which is a match made in heaven.
