Disclosure - F For You

It is almost time for the long awaited debut album from Disclosure. As expected there has been huge praise of the album, but also there are those who are cynical. The Album is a real treat, some old gems such as 'boiling' but also some new tracks featuring up and coming talents like London Grammar and Eliza Doolittle. Is it deep house? Is it garage .... But does it really matter? The two brothers have released this into the mainstream which is unlike anything out there at the moment. Some of their tracks may be molded to that of the tastes of the generic radio 1 daytime listener, but who cares? The album is an enjoyable listen, something special which we will not forget for a long time.

Liberty X-Just A Little Bit (AppleBottom's Bootie Shakin Bootleg)

Growing up in the 90s I found myself listening to Liberty X, don't point fingers now, we've all been there, and we all know their iconic track 'Just a little'. That pang of nostalgia rushed through my body when I first listened to the Applebottom remix, it's a deep funky bootie shakin bootleg, and I can't help myself smiling and bobbing along. What a treat Applebottom has given us here!

Ciara - Body Party (ESTA. Remix)

ESTA.’s avatar

It may be hard to admit, but even some of us house heads out there are have a guilty pleasure for some R&B. I find my library littered with R&B mixes, both new and old tracks, a favorite being the genius that is Kaytranada. This ESTA remix of Ciara has a glistening refreshing feel, like that sensation of jumping into a clear blue sea on some remote exotic beach, a sweet listen with catchy melodies and perfected beats. An essential for your library.

The Blonde Boys are back, I don't know about you but I've still got 'I loved you' still ringing in my ears, their tracks never seem to get old. What defines Blonde is that uplifting house feel, when i've heard one of their tracks live it's like  a switch has been flicked, the place just suddenly erupts, people love it because it's quite simply feel good music.

Some of you wise guys will recognize the Usher sample from 'one day you'll be mine' which has been recreated by the duo, injecting some energy into those vocals with bouncing beats and a flirtatious uplifting feel, it has that Blonde stamp all over it. The perfect soundtrack to your warm summer evenings. Grab it on a free download now.

Simba - Back Up

If you haven't heard of Simba already allow me to get you acquanted, Barney Hollington and Myles Bossman are a duo who met in university who produce music as well as DJ. They're starting to emerge on the scene and have supported greats such as Redlight, Jacques Greene, Breach, Mele.. the list goes on. When I heard their latest track wasn't an instant like, it was an instant love, a smooth grooving house track with a warm soulful core. Keep an eye on these guys, they're sampling a Whitney Housten track in their next release.
