Tonight I find myself having a quiet night in, I decide to catch up on all the latest music, you too may find yourself in the early hours of the morning endlessly searching the darkest depths of soundcloud for that one track. But then it happens. I find that banging tune i've been craving so badly, however after 5 plays I find myself awake and wired, energy runs through my vains and I'm raving along. Laura Mvula - SHE (MJ Cole Radio Remix)

There is something so irresistable about Laura Mvula's voice, it's naturally beautiful, rich and raw, no wonder she's been one of the starts of 2013. The legend that is MJ Cole has painted a groovy remix over the original which allows that stunning voice to flourish in its full colours. Pure feel good music. 

Karma Kid - In My Arms (Armeria's Full Of Happiness Edit)

The UK has been hit by a scorching heatwave this week, at every opportunity people have escaped outdoors to catch time in the sun, towns full of burnt red faces, busy beer gardens and melting ice-creams. The sun has just brought happiness, just in time with a fresh delivery from the hugely talented Armeria. He has somehow put even more radiance and happiness into Karma Kid's original, it cant help but put a smile on your face.

Robert Boogert - Ask Her

Allow me to introduce to you Robert Boogert, to get to know him we need to to take a trip back in time when 'ask her' was released. It has the trademark Boogert style, funk house that packs a punch, it's full of character with a colourful instrumental and a sexy vocal sample. For a taste of his more recent work listen to 'shove the shovel, a delicious blend of funk and tech house. 

Kidnap Kid - Thin Lines

I first fell in love with Kidnap Kid after listening to 'no-one else' and 'be mine', with it's blended cut vocals, ingenuity and raw energy it instantly grabbed me . His latest tracks have a more polished cleaner sounds with crisp vocals, take 'animaux' and 'so close' for example. 'Thin Lines' follows this pattern, a soft instrumental with a clean warm vocals, an enjoyable listen. Kidnap Kid like many artists has matured and developed over time, don't get me wrong his releases in 2013 have been good, I've downloaded all the tracks, however I would like for him to maybe experiment and throw us something new. But I do see the point some of you may make, he's making a good music establishing a trademark sound which is also commercial. Putting this aside Kidnap Kid has progressed into one of the leading men in the genre releasing hit after hit with an instantly likable sound.

Cyril Hahn - Perfect Form Ft. Shy Girls

I saw Cyril Hahn at the CYNT event in Cardiff a few weeks back, his set was close and intimate, dropping the Hahn classics as well as some other surprises. His latest release 'Perfect Form' fresh of soundcloud is a smooth number, it floats along in a dream like state with delicate chords and a warm vocal. It may not be as revolutionary as some of his previous tracks, however it's an enjoyable listen and ticks all the boxes with the signature Hahn sound.

Drums of Death - True Ft. Yasmin

Yasmin is one of the hottest talents on the scene right now, having recently teamed up with Friend Within on the banger 'so special' she now joins forces with Drums of Death. From the first few chords in I'm already hooked, it's develops beautifully and has a deep smokey base entwined with those sexy Yasmin vocals. This tune is like a drug, and I can't get enough of it. 

My Nu Leng & Fearful - Saccades

Sundays are for chilling, well now thats a little boring isn't it? Instead turn you speakers up and groove along to 'saccades' which is part of the 'Elite' EP which is a must listen released on Black Butter Records. I've had this on my library for a few months now, but it still remains so fresh and breezy, an easy listen to get you moving. 

Friend Within - The Renegade

Without question this has been one of the biggest tracks of the year, I've heard everyone dropping it, a real dance floor filler. He first previewed this back in December last year but has waited 6 months to give a release date of the 19th August as part of a 4-track EP. It brings that 90s classic back to life, a fresh spin for all us house heads. Even listening to it now, it remains as good as it did the first time I heard it.

Maribou State - Bring Me The Summer Mix (i-D online)

It's the first day of summer and things are looking up, the warm weather has started to settle and the light evening can't help but put you in a good mood. This evening I had family round for a BBQ, cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents, as always it's a difficult choice as to what music would suit everyone. But I decided to put on Maribou State's latest set for i-Dj, a sweet selection of soul, disco and jazz all deliciously blended together, no matter what you're age is you can appreciate and love it. The secret to Maribou States success is simple, they have a vast knowledge and love for music, in particular that soulful jazz feel adapted to modern deep house, they really are in a class of their own. Aaron Lipsett & Brame - the land of fluff

I'm ashamed to say that I still haven't seen Aaron Lipsett live, with a collection of outstanding tracks under his belt already he's one that you just need to see live. Here collaborating with another leading Irishman Brame, who also worked with Fion on 'get some' which is an old favourite. Within the first few seconds of 'a land of fluff' my head is already nodding along, a slow burning funk track, which has a naughty old school 80s feel. You may have been lucky enough to hear this dropped in one of their live sets, but it's perfect for any mood or environment, whether you're cooking in the kitchen, jamming by the pool or in a club. Joel Compass - Fucked Up (Huxley Remix)

When listening to the original song by Joel Compass I felt like there was something lacking, just not hitting the spot, lacking the venom which those lyrics so beautifully hold, but along comes Huxley to transform it ready for the dance floor. The lines "I'm so fucked up, and this girl won't wake up" has a dangerous and sinister side, Huxley wraps the lyrics around a dirty bass-line which makes it devilishly irresistible. king of the dance floor Huxley has conjured his dark magic, and you can't help yourself dancing.

Amel Larrieux - For Real / Jaël Remix

Sunday evenings are those times to chill, to unwind and relax and to forget about that week looming ahead. Jael's remix is rich and soulful, like a mug of warm hot chocolate it goes down smooth and warm. But this track has a dark and sexy aura, which makes it so intense. It just fits in perfectly to your sunday night playlist. 

TJPN - Actress

Teenage star TJPN has been a favorite of ours for a while now, he's the dark horse of the rising movement of young producers, one that is destined for great things. His signature sound is soft yet mellow house, with garage and R&B flavors, it's an instantly likable sound which is so damn catchy.

What gives TJPN that edge is his eye for a good sample, that ability to make it his own, but still give the listener that nostalgic pang, the Kelis sample in 'your games' is  a prime exampe of this. Mirror People - Kaleidoscope (Psychemagik Sunset Remix)

This song was made for the open air, refreshing with rich and bright colours which leap out at you, creating an exotic and mysterious feel. It softly develops with a soothing ambiance which creates its own space with a stunning instrumental. As one comment on soundcloud so perfectly put it, "this is a breath that is caught". 

Robosonic & Adana Twins - La Fique

Robosonic and the Adana Twins have joint forces to create the perfect floor filler for the summer. 'La Fique' is a melodic disco and funk inspired track, which has a breezy summer laid back feel to it. The vocals are soulful and warm, with a let loose vibe, the perfect combination to get you dancing. An essential for your summer playlist. 

Disclosure - You & Me (Flume Remix)

Within a day of being released on soundcloud Flume's remix of 'me and you' has exploded, reaching a whopping 350,000 + views and has submerged the music bloggosphere. Those vocals have being slowed down and echoed, luring you in, accompanied by a slow building instrumental which pulls at those heartstrings, until that raw and powerful drop. Flume has waved his magic wand, transformed the original into something even better, pure magic. 

Snakehips - Make it

Snakehips have knocked all my assumptions out of the park! You may know them for their groovefilled soulful tracks such as 'on and on' and their remix of the Bondax track 'gold'. But here they take a new direction, something different, unlike their previous sounds 'Make It' has a dirty edge to it , dare I say it a similar sound to Rustie. Turn this one up!

Pedestrian - Hoyle Road

I was instantly drawn to the song 'Hoyle Road', however I couldn't explain why until I recently watched the music video for the song. It's  full of mystery, desire, lust and passion, a story of a man who caught in a dream, intoxicated by the beauty of a woman who flickers in and out tormenting and teasing him . The video perfectly depicts the song, a true work of art by the amazing pedestrian. With tracks like 'Mask', 'Doo Wop' and 'Rush Don't Run', pedestrian are at the top of their game.
